Job Summary
- Drive semi-trucks with heavy-haul trailers.
- Haul dry van or refrigerated (reefer) goods.
- Travel across a defined multi-state region.
- Return home frequently, usually weekly or bi-weekly.
Pay & Home Time
Base Pay:
- $20.00-$29.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Home Time:
- Normally home for resets (34-48 hours).
Annual Increase
- Minimum $0.50 per year on the employee anniversary date, up to the wage cap. The source package also provides for an annual merit increase based on performance, generally within a $0.50-$1.50 range, subject to manager discretion and the maximum base rate.
COLA Adjustment
- At Company discretion.
Driver Premiums
- Night Driver Premium: $1.00/hour
- Bulk Feed Driver Premium: $1.00/hour
- Unlimited Driver Premium: $1.00/hour for qualifying local unlimited/BC/pass work
- Sleeper Driver Premium: $1.00/hour
- Military Premium: $0.50/hour
- Part-Time Premium: $2.00/hour, as listed in the source pay chart
- Biosolids Assistance Premium: $55/day while assisting with the Biosolids Unit
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect the truck, trailer, and cargo before and after every trip.
- Secure heavy freight using chains, binders, straps, and specialized rigging.
- Plan safe routes for heavy and oversized loads.
- Obey state weight limits, bridge laws, and permit rules.
- Keep clean electronic logs of driving hours.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch and customers.
Job Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- 2+ years of OTR or heavy-haul driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record and valid medical card.
- Knowledge of heavy-haul equipment and securement gear.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
- May need to assist with unloading.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong spatial awareness and driving skills in tight spaces.
- Good knowledge of state traffic and weight laws.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems on the road.
- Physical ability to climb trailers and handle heavy chains.
Benefits
OTR Subsistence Allowance
- $35 for each qualifying 24-hour period away from the home terminal.
OTR Layover Allowance
- $100 for each qualifying 24-hour period away from the home terminal while awaiting dispatch instructions.
- $150 per day beginning with the second day when the delay is caused by the customer, as stated in the source package.
Eligibility
- Benefits begin after 90 days of employment, except vacation eligibility, which begins after the first anniversary.
Medical, Dental & Vision
- Employee contributes $90/month toward the employee premium.
- Employee is responsible for 100% of dependent premiums.
- Source package lists a $2,000 deductible.

Paid Sick Leave
- Accrues at 1 hour for every 40 hours worked, with a source-package maximum accumulation of 20 days.
- This is paid sick leave, not general PTO. Verification may be requested only as permitted by applicable law and Company policy.
Bereavement/Funeral Leave
- Two days for qualifying immediate family members listed in the Company policy.
Orientation Period
- The first 30 days of employment are considered orientation.
