Position Summary
The position is responsible for partnering with warehouse leadership in training personnel and monitoring progress toward team goals while safely filling and processing inbound and outbound parts orders for both internal and external customers. This position is critical in ensuring that the company can locate and secure parts for orders and service jobs accurately and efficiently. The incumbent is highly proficient in an array of duties not limited to, receiving, and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling, packing and shipping orders along with other duties as assigned.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop strong long-term relationships with on-highway truck, Hi-Vac, Blue Bird bus customers gain trust and respect by providing parts customer support.
- The incumbent will submit leads to the service writer and supervisor for all service work that is recognized during his normal operations.
- Ensure delivery of parts orders to on-highway customers and provide solutions to any logistical problems.
- The incumbent will assist both walk-in and call in customers with on-highway parts lookup and purchasing. This includes but not limited to Blue Bird, Hi-Vac, Cummins, and aftermarket truck parts.
- Incumbent will assist other MacAllister parts personnel both locally and intercompany with part and vendor identification.
- The incumbent will communicate with the vendor(s) to order needed parts that are not in our inventory.
- The incumbent will work with inventory control to help determine what parts should be in inventory and where to source needed parts.
- The incumbent will handle customer complaints, invoicing problems and customer satisfaction issues. This person will relay pertinent information as required to the branch manager.
- Although the incumbent is somewhat removed from the capital sales arena, a relationship with the main line sales person would be advantageous. If the opportunity exists that there are leads for any sale of whole goods; the incumbent should direct them to the appropriate MSR.
- The Incumbent must work closely with the warranty analyst to ensure claims are valid and processed within the designated time frame.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Establish on-highway parts prices in accordance with supply & demand, while maintaining profit margins
- Investigates various vendor options for improved pricing, service levels and quality to support the aftermarket business
- Monitor inventory age & make recommendations for disposal & replenishment of parts to maintain appropriate levels of inventory
- Main resource & knowledge hub for all makes on-highway
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No formal supervisory responsibilities.
- Coaches, mentors and trains associates
- Communicates all issues to management
Position Requirements
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years parts experience and/or inventory management
- Strong knowledge for all makes of on-highway vehicles and parts.

- Strong Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills, mechanical/systems and knowledge of on-highway and aftermarket parts
- Working knowledge of computers and the ability to learn the operational aspects for vendor and dealer business system software.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to analyze situations and quickly determine best course of action, be an innovative problem solver.
- Must be self-motivated, thorough and tenacious information organizer and manager with the ability to diplomatically motivate
- Candidate must be able to build relationship with customers and employees, at all levels of each organization. He must be able to speak language and understand the roles and use the talents of all parties.
