Job Description Summary:

The Service technician will troubleshoot/diagnose equipment problem and perform repair work on a wide variety of equipment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and repair heavy diesel, gas and electrically operated construction equipment. Repair types can range from complete machine overhauls to minor repairs such as fixing leaks, changing fluids and filters.
  • Diagnosing operational difficulties; disassemble and reassemble equipment, replacing defective parts. Diagnostics can include checking pressures, voltage and flow to identify the source(s) of equipment problems.
  • Work independently or with senior technicians to rebuild components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic pumps.
  • Prepare parts requisitions and enter requisitions into the Company's computer system.
  • Must be capable of performing heating, brazing, soldering, burning and minor welding not requiring certified welding skills.
  • Technician will use Anderson's systems to document work orders, track progress of repairs and order parts. Focus on safety protocols and regulations must be maintained at all times.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two year Technical degree or comparable military training considered a plus;
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance;
  • Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of equipment operations, mechanical functions, electrical and hydraulic systems;
  • Proficiency with computers and diagnostic programs provided by manufacturers.
  • Ownership of adequate hand tools.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation depends on location, experience/skills, overtime: $24.75-$42.00 per hour.
