Pottle’s Transportation Helps Wreaths Across America

On Sunday, December 6th, Barry Pottle, President of Pottle’s Transportation, will make the drive from Harrington, ME to Arlington National Cemetery as part of Wreaths Across America (www.wreathsacrossamerica.org).  This is Mr. Pottle’s second time making this trip.

Last year, Morrill Worcester, founder of Wreaths Across America, asked Pottle’s Transportation (www.pottlestrans.com) if they would like to participate in the delivery of wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery (www.arlingtoncemetery.org/index.htm).  This was an opportunity Barry Pottle jumped at.  According to Barry Pottle "I was never in the service. It is a way to give back to our country."

This year’s journey is going to be even more memorable for Mr. Pottle.  For one thing, his wife will be joining him on the 7 day drive from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery.  One of the first stops on the trip will be a wreath laying ceremony in Mr. Pottle’s hometown of Hermon, ME.  That’s not all.  Mr. Pottle’s truck will be carrying the wreaths for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and President Kennedy’s grave.

Wreaths Across America (www.maxwellgunterdispatch.com/article/20091204/dispatch01/91204026/1114/dispatch) lays wreaths in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Iraq and 24 national cemeteries in foreign countries.  In addition to Pottle’s Transportation, the following trucking companies are also volunteering: Hartt Transportation, Mr. Ed’s Trucking, Perdue Transportation, Baylor Transportation, Boyle Transportation, Walmart Transportation, West Transportation, Landstar Transportation and Portland Air Freight.

CareersInGear.com would like to join Wreaths Across America in thanking the trucking industry for their participation in this project.
