Over the Road trucking or OTR is a form of tractor trailer driving. OTR driving involves making deliveries to some or all of the continental 48 states and parts of Canada. This type of long distance driving is perfect for the driver who wants to see the country and doesn’t mind being away from home. Drivers should be aware if the loads are “no-touch,” as they generally pay more to the driver. Some OTR trucking jobs are regional and involve less long-distance travel. In some instances, regional carriers also include weekends off, so be sure to check with the company about such benefits.
